Alex and Catherine are a part of our fun series of engagement photos called Seasons of Bliss! We go to different locations throughout Colorado with other engaged couples. The goal is to capture the engaged season of life through the newlywed months! These images are all from their personalized session. Hair and makeup provided by Mary Rodriguez with Glammed Up Designs
A little bit about Alex and Catherine:
Wedding date: March 13, 2021
How we met: We met during a game of touch football in high school in which he had the ball and I (accidentally) tackled him. His very first words to me were, “You can get off me now”. Little did I know that it was love at first sight for him. It took me a few more heartbreaks to get back to him, though. I’ve known I wanted to marry him since I was 16.
Our engagement story: Our engagement story is best prefaced with the fact that I don’t like surprises. I knew for about a month that he was going to propose on our 11 year anniversary. He told me and asked me a lot of questions about what I wanted, etc. I was so excited that it took every ounce of my being to not tell everyone that it was going to happen! We planned a romantic outing to the Ice castles, but it just didn’t feel right. On our way back home, he says let’s go to our favorite spot in the park (mind you, it was 15 degrees). We both knew what he had in mind. We took a short moonlit stroll in our favorite park and he proposed on the bridge under the lamplight. He was so nervous that he opened the ring box upside down. It was absolutely the most perfect moment and more than I had dreamed. The way it all happened fits us and our relationship to a T. I am so thrilled to be marrying my very best friend.
Our typical date night: A typical date night is us sitting on the couch watching bad movies or movies we’ve seen before. We usually cook something together on those nights or we have what we like to call a barbarian feast (meat, cheese, bread, and wine).
Our favorite thing to do together: Our favorite thing to do together is just be. We are both homebodies at heart and although I love to go on Colorado adventures with him, there is nothing we love more than enjoying each others company.
Wedding Venue: Our wedding venue is called Wedgewood Boulder Creek. The colors will be dusty rose, dusty blue, and navy. We are planning a very small wedding of less than 20 including ourselves.
What do you do for a living? I am a nurse and Alex works for a photographer and creates videos and other creative content through his personal business.
