PAUL AND VICTORIA WEDDING // THE OAKS AT PLUM CREEK VENUE// CASTLE ROCK, CO // COLORADO MICROWEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER // DENVER WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

Paul and Victoria’s Wedding at The Oaks at Plum Creek in Castle Rock, CO last May was one I won’t soon forget. This weekend was a wedding I had been looking forward to ever since Paul and Vic set up a Zoom call with me. From that first call, I felt like we all hit it off! It’s just one of those things that, when you know, you know! Paul and Victoria define fun-loving, sweet, outdoorsy couples in love and this is everything I hope for when I photograph couples. I wish for laughter, and joy, adventurous and down-to-earth brides with big hearts for the people in their lives. This is Victoria and Paul to a T! It was such a joy to chat wedding details and plans with them. I prayed this would be an opportunity to work with an amazing couple at a gorgeous venue. As it so happened, they booked with me—what an honor!

I first met up with Victoria at The Oaks the afternoon of their big day. Guests were starting to arrive and Victoria and her bestie Zabada were getting ready and sipping on champagne together. After a few “getting ready” photos, I went off to find Paul who was greeting guests.

Paul and Vic had only invited a handful of guests and this was actually my first wedding in the Covid days that I didn’t have to wear a mask! Their guests were mostly family with a few friends and what a connected and sweet day it was.

After returning from shooting grips and grins, I met back with Victoria who had gotten on her dress. She was jaw-dropping and her positivity was more radiant than ever. I could tell she was a little nervous too, but it was absolutely so sweet; I couldn’t wait for her and Paul to see each other!

Next was a spontaneous, “first look” with Victoria’s parents. As you can tell from the images, it was an adorable moment! We took a few family photos and portraits of just Victoria before we headed off for the ceremony.

The ceremony was of course beautiful and the officiant spoke with such grace and truth about the importance of marriage and God’s divine plan for this union.

As per usual wedding flow, portraits with family and friends happened next. We glided through all the family portraits quickly and with so much ease (and enthusiasm! Seriously, their families were a dream!).

My favorite time was up next, wedding party and couple portraits! It’s so funny because my couples usually say “we need guidance” or “we’re so awkward in front of the camera”, but that never shows in photos! I fully direct and give you prompts for legit smiles and interactions between the two of you. It also helps to have an awesome hype groomsman and bridesmaid; cracking jokes is perfect for getting rid of the pressure 🙂

Next up, reception! The first dances were all so impressive! Vic and her dad, Paul and his mom, and Paul and Vic themselves showed off with some impressive swing dancing moves! As we moved into the evening, we snuck out for some golden sunset images and then continued the evening with some upbeat dancing from the guests.

All in all, it was truly a perfect day! Together, Paul and Victoria completely compliment one another. He is always smiling (as is Victoria) and loves her deeply, and quietly. They are, indeed, a perfect match, and I am just bursting with joy that I got to document their love on such a perfect day.

Paul and Victoria, I am so beyond happy that I got to be there to witness the beginning of your next big adventure. Thank you a million times over for being so incredible. I hope this new adventure together gets better each and every day. Your joy is contagious and I absolutely loved being surrounded by it on your wedding day. Cheers to many decades of love and happiness!
